Music 1770: Intro to Music Technology

Poetry project peer responses

  1. Go to the Teams > Files > Project 1 - magnetic poetry folder.
If they are not in alphabetical order, click the “Name” column heading and select "A–Z".
  2. Go to the folder immediately below your own. If you are at the bottom, go to the top folder.
  3. Listen to the poetry project there.
If you encounter a problem with the file, email the composer and cc me.
  4. Write a response, answering the following questions:
    • Describe the experience of listening to the collage from your point of view.
    • What do you think the meaning of the poem is?
How do you interpret the adapted version?
What was the composer’s approach? (as best you can guess from listening—do not read their own compositional pre-plan yet)
    • List two things that you really enjoyed about the piece. What really worked well? Can you figure out why it worked well? Be specific, using timecode to identify exactly what you're talking about.
    • Give two constructive feedback items for the composer. What didn’t work so well? Do you have an idea they could try to improve a spot? Be specific! At this point, you may read their own compositional pre-plan if you like.
  5. Email your response to the composer (addresses are below) and cc me so I can see your comments.
